Azerbaijan – OIC: 35 Years of Cooperation

One of the key priorities of Azerbaijan's foreign policy is strengthening ties with the Islamic world, promoting Islamic solidarity, and expanding international cooperation. The meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, has once again highlighted the political and diplomatic significance of this partnership. Following the restoration of its independence, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation was among the very first international bodies that Azerbaijan joined. This year marks the 35th anniversary of our country's membership in this organization.
