Ilham Aliyev inspected progress at Aghdam Industrial Park and attended inauguration of new plants

On September 19, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reviewed the progress at Aghdam Industrial Park and participated in the inauguration of several new plants.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov briefed the head of state on developments at Aghdam Industrial Park.

The park, the second largest in terms of residency after Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, has granted residency to 27 business entities with investments exceeding 238 million manats. Six additional entrepreneurs hold non-resident status. These 33 business entities are expected to create 2,090 jobs. To date, residents have invested over 72 million manats, generating nearly 300 permanent jobs.

President Ilham Aliyev first attended the opening of the Footwear Manufacturing Plant owned by “BAFCO Invest” LLC at the industrial park.

The head of state was informed that “BAFCO Invest” LLC was registered as a resident of Aghdam Industrial Park in March 2023. The plant covers 2.5 hectares and employs advanced German technologies. With an investment of over 10 million manats, it will employ 120 people from Aghdam and surrounding districts.

The plant aims to produce 510,000 pairs of shoes annually, with 65% designated for domestic markets and 35% for international markets.

President Ilham Aliyev also attended the inauguration of the Electric Distribution Equipment, Sockets, and Concrete Substation Plant owned by “Eel Electric” LLC.

The President reviewed the operations of the plant.

Registered as a resident of Aghdam Industrial Park in November 2022, the plant occupies 1.7 hectares and utilizes advanced European and Turkish technologies.

With an investment of over 3 million manats, it will provide 70 jobs, primarily for local residents.

The plant will produce 600 medium-voltage devices, 600 low-voltage devices, 150 monoblock concrete substations, and 140 charging stations for electric vehicles annually. It aims to sell 60% of its products domestically and 40% internationally.

President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the Automation and Telemechanics Systems Manufacturing Plant owned by Rail Trans Service LLC. Registered as a resident of Aghdam Industrial Park in October 2022, this company will operate on a 1.6-hectare area. With an investment value of 8.92 million AZN, the plant will employ 60 people, mainly from Aghdam and surrounding regions. The facility is designed to produce 5,000 units of communication and signaling equipment and 250 microprocessor centralization systems annually for both domestic and international markets.

The head of state also inaugurated the Wallpaper Production Plant of Mister Decor LLC, a resident of Aghdam Industrial Park since October 2022.

Spanning 1.6 hectares, this is the first factory in the South Caucasus specialized in wallpaper production. With an investment of 8 million AZN and an annual capacity of 2.1 million rolls, the facility will employ 76 workers. The plant uses German technology and plans to supply both local and international markets.

President Ilham Aliyev opened Metkons LLC’s factory for the production of ventilation systems, fire-fighting equipment, and metal products.

Operating on one hectare, this facility was registered as a resident of Aghdam Industrial Park in April 2022 and has an annual capacity of 33,000 units. It employs technologies from Türkiye, Italy, Russia, and China. With an investment of 3.9 million AZN, the plant will provide 90 permanent jobs and mainly serve the domestic market.

The President also inaugurated Prof-Dam LLC’s Roofing Materials Factory.

Registered in April 2022, this facility spans two hectares and specializes in producing profiled sheets, metal tiles, sandwich panels, and roofing accessories.

The plant uses cold metal-forming technologies from Italy, Finland, Turkiye, Russia, and China. With an investment of 8.5 million AZN, the facility will create around 40 jobs and has an annual production capacity of 1.4 million square meters of profiled sheets, 1 million square meters of each metal tiles and sandwich panels and 2,000 tons of roofing accessories. Ninety percent of its products will serve the local market, with 10% destined for export.
