International Exhibitions in Azerbaijan: Growth of Business Tourism and Strategic Partnership with Absheron Hotel Group

97

International exhibitions in Azerbaijan play an important role in the development of business tourism, strengthening the country’s position as a leading venue for business meetings, the presentation of innovative technologies, and the attraction of investment. The exhibitions bring together leading companies and specialists from across the globe and are held with the support of government institutions. In 2024, according to organisers’ statistics, confirmed by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), the total number of foreign representatives amounted to 9058, including 5690 exhibitors and 3,368 visitors.
The influx of business visitors requires well-coordinated work by all services — hotels, restaurants, transport companies, and other service providers — at the highest level. Thus, exhibitions generate a multiplier effect, stimulating business activity, contributing to the development of the hospitality and transport industries, and, of course, strengthening the country’s investment appeal.
To ensure a high level of service and convenience for participants, the organisers engage strategic partners among leading companies and hotels. In 2025, such a partner is Absheron Hotel Group, appointed as the official hotel partner of the autumn exhibition season. The company is one of the leading operators in Azerbaijan’s hospitality sector and successfully manages a number of internationally recognised hotels.
Jihane Mamouri, Chief Commercial Officer at Absheron Hotel Group noted: “The international exhibitions organised by Caspian Event Organisers and Iteca Caspian unite industry leaders from across the globe and spark new partnerships on Azerbaijani soil. Absheron Hotel Group is proud to be appointed Official Hotel Partner for the 2025–2026 exhibition season, providing exhibitors and delegates with seamless stays across its portfolio, as well as exclusive rates, and dedicated on-site support, elevating the visitor experience end to end.”
Such a partnership opens up new prospects for both sides: for Absheron Hotel Group, it is an opportunity to strengthen its position in the field of business tourism and to attract more international corporate clients, while for the exhibitions, it is a guarantee of high-quality service and additional convenience for participants, enhancing their status as leading business platforms in the region.
The autumn exhibition season of 2025 includes:
•    The 2nd International Exhibition and Conference for Water Management— Baku Water Week (held on September 10–12);
•    The 30th Anniversary Caspian Construction Week, which will feature the exhibitions BakuBuild, Rebuild Karabakh, Aquatherm Baku, Plastex Caspian, and Road&Traffic (October 14–16);
•    The 27th Azerbaijan International Exhibition Medical Innovations - Medinex (October 30– November 1).
All exhibitions are organised at the Baku Expo Centre with the support of government institutions.
