Azerbaijan's activities in intangible heritage protection presented at UNESCO session

The 11th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage has been held at UNESCO headquarters, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Culture.

The Azerbaijani delegation at the session was led by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli.

He discussed the measures taken by Azerbaijan to protect and promote intangible cultural heritage, the presence of national heritage examples on UNESCO's lists, and the importance of international cooperation in this area.

The minister emphasized that Azerbaijan has identified the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage as a key area of ​​state policy and continues to collaborate closely with UNESCO in this area.

The session also discussed issues related to the implementation of the Convention, improving heritage protection mechanisms, and developing international cooperation.
