The share of trips made by private cars and taxis in Azerbaijan has already been reduced to about 40% of total journeys, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said at a WUF13 event in Baku.

According to Report, Nabiyev stated that the country now aims to further reduce this figure to 30% by the end of 2030.

"When we started, this target seemed very ambitious. But as projects are being implemented, it now appears quite achievable," he said.

Addressing road safety, the minister noted that traffic-related fatalities have declined from 9 to 7 per 100,000 residents since 2023.

He also outlined a long-term vision to transform Baku into a "20-minute city," where all essential destinations can be reached within a 20-minute journey.
