Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrives in Azerbaijan (PHOTO)

 Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, arrived in Azerbaijan on November 11 to participate in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Trend reports.

At Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Turkish leader was welcomed by Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with other officials.

To note, the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will last until November 22, opened in Baku today.
This event is the largest organized by Azerbaijan to date, and for the first time, it is held in this region in Azerbaijan.

A top-level event - a summit of world leaders on climate action - will be held within COP29 on November 12-13.

The main expectation from COP29 is to agree on a fair and ambitious New Collective Quantitative Goal (NCQG) on climate finance.
