Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan explore cultural cooperation
On April 16, Adil Karimli, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture, met with a delegation of Kyrgyzstan led by State Secretary Arslan Koichiev.
During the meeting, Minister Adil Karimli noted that bilateral relations between the two countries are steadily developing in all areas, including culture, under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Zhaparov. He added that joint cultural projects, including cultural days, are helping to advance these ties.
The Minister highlighted the admiration for the rich creativity of the great Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov in Azerbaijan. According to him, on April 24, 2024, the opening ceremony of the monument to Chingiz Aitmatov took place in Baku with the participation of both countries’ presidents.
Karimli noted that the 100th anniversary of the renowned Kyrgyz writer is being widely celebrated across the Turkic world, including Azerbaijan.
Kyrgyz State Secretary Arslan Koichiev expressed his country’s willingness to foster relations with Azerbaijan across all domains.
The discussions further revolved around bilateral cultural cooperation.
