Complex preventive measures are being implemented to ensure uninterrupted and sustainable electricity supply to Baku city during COP29, Report informs.

According to Azerenerji OJSC, as part of these measures, regional emergency response drills were conducted with the participation of operational teams to simulate personnel response in case of system failures due to weather conditions and other emergencies, elimination of accidents, and flawless organization of work.

During the regional emergency response drill, which was held to increase the knowledge and skills of operational personnel and strengthen coordination between the central dispatch management of Azerenerji and Azerishig JSCs, they mainly simulated the restoration of the city's power supply in the shortest possible time by assembling an alternative scheme if 220 kV power transmission lines connecting Baku city's transmission network infrastructure to the power system were to be disconnected.

The emergency response drill involved operational personnel from the central dispatch services of Azerenerji and Azerishig, as well as transmission and distribution enterprises.

The emergency response drill, centered at Azerenerji's 220-kilovolt Nizami substation, aims to enhance the preparedness level of the power infrastructure for COP29 events to be held in Baku on November 11-24 and increase the practical skills of operational personnel.
