Presentation on green energy potential of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur held in Dubai

The State Oıl Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has held an event “SOCAR decarbonization strategy and future prospects” on the sidelines of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP28 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Addressing the event as a guest of honor, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev touched upon protection of environment, restoration of environmental balance, implementation of respective programs in Azerbaijan.

SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf provided an insight into SOCAR’s environment-related activities, emission reduction over the long and medium term horizon, zero methane, Net Zero targets by 2050.

The event dealing with carbon neutrality concept in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur economic districts was held later the same day.
