Footage of five leopards was recorded in the Hasan Aliyev Zangezur National Park, located on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The video was shot using camera traps and posted on the page of the representative office of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Azerbaijan. "As we have already reported, since 2007 we have been monitoring the leopard (Panthera pardus) population, its food sites and competing species in our country using photo and video traps. For the first time, our cameras captured five leopards together at once. You know four of them well — this is the female, to whom we gave the name Banu, and her three cubs. The fifth is a male with the code name SC_026, which is also found in the territories of neighboring countries," the publication says. It should be noted that the project is being implemented jointly with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and IDEA (International Dialogue on Environmental Protection). According to the information, the results of a study conducted in Nakhchivan with the help of cameras show that the last 12 years have been the most productive.
