Azerbaijan's winter tourism opportunities presented in the Chinese market

On October 16, a presentation was held in Beijing, jointly organized by the representative office of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) in the People's Republic of China and the Shahdag Tourism Center.

During the event, representatives of more than 10 leading travel agencies operating in Beijing were briefed on Azerbaijan's winter tourism opportunities.

The presentation highlighted the winter tourism experiences offered by the Shahdag Tourism Center and the possibilities of incorporating these products into travel itineraries prepared for Chinese tourists. It was also noted that integrating the Center into existing tourism routes across Azerbaijan contributes to enriching travel programs.

The meeting reviewed issues regarding the expansion of business ties between travel agencies representing both countries and the promotion of various tourism destinations of Azerbaijan in the Chinese market.

In September 2026, the number of Chinese citizens visiting Azerbaijan increased by 28 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 11,049 people. In the January–September period of the current year, 52,115 Chinese citizens visited the country, representing a 4.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
