Minister: Aghband-Kelaleh highway bridge to boost Azerbaijan-Iran transport links

“In 2024, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran reached $650 million. During our talks, the parties discussed ways to further expand trade, as current figures do not fully reflect the countries’ potential,” Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a briefing with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
He added that construction of the Aghband-Kelaleh highway bridge is currently underway, with completion scheduled for 2026. “This bridge will make a significant contribution to transport and communication links between our two countries,” the minister noted.
