Tbilisi commemorates Khojaly Genocide victims

A memorial ceremony took place at the Mirza Fatali Akhundov Museum of Azerbaijani Culture in Tbilisi to mark the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, Report informs.
The event was organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia.
Among the attendees were Gulnaz Childyrly, a Georgian citizen from Khojaly, Azerbaijan, Georgian experts, along with members of the Azerbaijani community, and embassy staff. Prayers were recited for the souls of the genocide victims.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev delivered a speech, highlighting the atrocities committed during the Khojaly genocide. He emphasized that this tragic event, marked by the massacre of civilians, including children and women, is a barbaric violation of the laws of war.
The ambassador also underscored the ongoing relevance of the ideas expressed by Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev regarding the tragedy. He stressed the importance of working actively to expose these crimes globally and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Ambassador Guliyev reiterated that the Khojaly tragedy will forever remain in the memory of the Azerbaijani people and that the fight against genocide must continue. He underlined that the international community should unite in preventing such atrocities from happening again.
