Özlem Karapınar becomes first female pasha of Turkish Air Force

Within the scope of the Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) decisions, Colonel Özlem Karapınar was promoted to the rank of brigadier general, according to Haberler.com. With this promotion, Karapınar achieved the title of the first female general in the history of the Turkish Air Force.

The Supreme Military Council (YAS) meeting took place in Bestepe. The meeting, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes.

The meeting addressed promotions and retirement decisions to take place in the Turkish Armed Forces. Accordingly, Air Force Commander General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu was retired due to lack of positions. General Rafet Dalkiran, Commander of the Combat Air Force, was appointed as the Air Force Commander.

Within the scope of Supreme Military Council (YAS) decisions, Colonel Ozlem Karapinar was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. With this promotion, Karapinar earned the title of the first female general in the history of the Turkish Air Force.

In line with the Supreme Military Council decisions, a historic moment was experienced in the Turkish Armed Forces. Colonel Ozlem Karapinar, who stood out with her successful services, was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General with the recent decisions.

With this meaningful promotion, Ozlem Karapinar, who achieved an unforgettable success in her military career, wrote her name into TAF history as the first female general (pasha) in the Turkish Air Force.
